Matt’s senior photo session was definitely a memorable one. As perfect as the lighting was at the park in St. Cloud, the mosquitoes were almost unbearable (though you probably can’t tell by his great smile). I had to Photoshop out 15 mosquitoes from some of his photos!
John is a young man of many talents and interests. We were able to incorporate several of these into his Fond du Lac senior photo session: Church, track, cross-country, bicycling, and his love of Goldfish crackers. He even was able to get in a few photos wearing his hilarious “paint splatter onesie,” definitely a first […]
Donovan is actually my cousin’s son, and it sure was hard to believe he was already a senior! He chose several great looks and locations for his portrait session in Fond du Lac and rural St. Cloud, with a mix of urban and nature settings.
These two have been BFFs forever! We did this fun best friends teen photo session at the 2018 Fond du Lac County Fair on Saturday. They braved the crowds, the awkward stares, a few photo-bombers, and getting cotton candy stuck in their hair due to the wind. (I even got shortchanged by the carnival worker selling […]
Tanner is a kid I’ve been photographing since 2012. His senior portrait session was bittersweet, as it would be the last session due to his family’s move across the country! The rain and cloudy skies gave us some dramatic lighting at Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac. We got a few photos of Tanner with […]
Cassie’s senior portrait session took place in various locations in and around Fond du Lac. Cassie is an animal lover, so of course we included her horse and new puppy in some of the shots!
I photographed Parker’s older brother a few years ago, and I’m always excited to be chosen to photograph siblings in the same family. We had a nice sunny evening for his session, which took place near the UW-Fond du Lac campus.
Trends come and go, and people are often drawn to trends. I believe that photography is something that should be able to exist beyond a current trend. Photography is both an art and a science. Technology is continually evolving, creating increasing expectations for quality. The art side of photography depends much more on style preferences. […]
Anthony and Marissa and their daughters traveled to Fond du Lac for their family photo session on this perfect spring evening. The trees had just begun to bud and the weather was a dream. The location offered a great variety of backdrops for their photo session. I was able to capture some adorable smiles and […]
A professional headshot session differs quite a bit from an outdoor portrait session. Headshots are traditionally done using studio lighting against a backdrop, and thus, the details will be more noticeable. A headshot session is typically a formal affair; meaning, you will want to elevate your style from your everyday or casual look. Consider where […]
This tutorial will show you how to create a fun “pop-art” style photo. Adobe Photoshop CC and Adobe Lightroom Classic were used. (Older version of software will still work, but the screenshots may not match.) Step 1: Take a photo against a solid color backdrop. To give the right effect, studio lighting is preferred. […]
The “photographer’s eye” isn’t something that can be taught. I believe this is something that creative people are born with. For as long as I can remember, I have always been able to see beauty peeking out from something that the average person might see as ugly or uninteresting. Sometimes I look at a location […]
